Job Description

You’re the Master Printer of flexible printed batteries. You have a deep understanding of how screen printing works, and a gut feel for how to combine squeegees, screens and set up to deliver a replicable process for high quality. You're data-driven based on experiments; and you insist on documenting and codifying practices. You know the suppliers and manufacturers of consumables and equipment. Your focus will be the optimization of the battery printing process: how to get the highest deposition with the lowest roughness, how to optimize the drying process; how to scale it up to production printers and ovens. You will participate in equipment installation and writing production documentation ready for technology transfer. Your choices help advance Imprint’s products from novel applications to production in the billions per year. You will wear many hats and contribute to all aspects of battery manufacturing, optimization and testing. 


Role responsibilities

  • Develop and continually improve the printing processes for ZincPoly™ batteries

  • Responsible for technology transfer efforts

  • Create detailed documentation for printing, equipment setup and quality control 

  • Design experiments, collect and analyze data to understand factors affecting print quality and the resulting battery performance 

  • Predict, look for, and take into account real-world deployment of our process technologies to boost reliability

  • Manage outside relationships with material suppliers, partners, and joint development efforts

  • Participate in equipment Installation and organization of the process flow



  • Demonstrated >5 years hands-on experience in screen printing and stencil printing in industrial environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with squeegee and screen suppliers

  • Documented experience with industrial printers and conveyor ovens 

  • BS or MS in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline 

  • Familiarity with data analysis and the use of statistical analysis software such as JMP

  • Ability to work and communicate with a small team in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with minimal supervision
